Contributor Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in writing for Yoka News. We welcome voices from journalists, subject-matter experts, and passionate writers who share our commitment to accuracy, fairness, and independent reporting.

Who Can Contribute?

We accept contributions from writers at all experience levels. Whether you are a seasoned journalist, an industry expert, or a first-time writer with a compelling story, we encourage you to apply. All contributors must register for an account and receive author approval before publishing.

Content Standards

  • Accuracy: Every claim must be verifiable. Cite your sources and link to primary references wherever possible.
  • Originality: All submissions must be original work not published elsewhere. Plagiarism results in immediate removal.
  • Objectivity: Present facts clearly. Opinion pieces must be clearly labelled as such.
  • Tone: Write for a general, informed audience. Avoid jargon, inflammatory language, and clickbait headlines.
  • Length: Articles should be a minimum of 300 words. Long-form pieces of 800–2,000 words tend to perform best.

Editorial Process

All submitted articles go through our editorial review process before publication. Our editors may suggest revisions for clarity, accuracy, or style. We will communicate any significant changes with you before the article goes live.

What We Do Not Accept

  • Promotional or sponsored content disguised as editorial
  • Content that promotes hate speech, discrimination, or violence
  • Articles that have been published on other platforms
  • Unverified rumours presented as fact
